You've just got to love new 'old' lead!

I’ve been very busy recently. No not with work (sod that), but on eBay! I’ve been frantically tracking down and filling gaps in my lead collection. Now, I’ve purposely restricted what I want to collect due to money and space. I don’t want to clutter my man cave up with lead, as I have quite the lead mountain as it is. It’s always a talking point when friends pop round inquiring ‘what are those little men?’ only for me to reply with my standard ‘they are my lead soldiers’. It’s far easier replying this way.

Warning – there are unpainted miniatures coming up! I’ll start off with this unique Beastman that I successfully won on eBay. I actually didn’t intend to collect it as I never knew it even existed. After a quick google, I found him here and here. There is no name for this fella apart from C22 Chaos Beast. From now on he shall be known as ‘Waspman’.

C22 Chaos Beast

Or Waspman?

Next up is something I’ve been after for ages and for a reasonable price. C34 Beastmen Raiders.

C34 Beastman Raider

Ok, so I only got one horse, but still, I’m chuffed to bits to get these and for under a tenner. It just goes to show that with a little patience and a bit of luck, there are bargains to be had on eBay. I don’t know when I’ll be able to slap some paint on these fellas, but I just had to share them with you, even in their naked, bare, lead selves. To make amends, here is a recently painted Flesh Hound. Grrrrhhhhhh……….

A Bloodletter and a Chaos Beastman called Atzel

It was a blast painting the Bloodletter as it's a fairly simple sculpt, but still great fun. You only need a lot of red and shazam, finished. The CH4 Beastman Atzel has the classic Beastman look to it. I didn’t want to paint the fur brown so went with yellow (a notoriously difficult colour to get right). I think it turned out ok. One thing that is missing is a shield…....again! Must get over my hatred of painting shields! Here are the figs folks:

I’ve got a couple more WIP’s on the go, but nothing special as I’m currently immersed in my new book 'Consider Phlebas' by Iain M. Banks. A great read so far. Bis zum nächten mal!

A Chaos Champion of Khorne - a bitter disappointment indeed

Hmmmmmm, I’m not too pleased with this Champion of Khorne’s paint job at all. It’s very basic and bland. Oh well, that’s the way he will stay as I’ve amassed quite the collection of 80’s lead and there are many other’s waiting in line for their share of paint. It’s just finding the time! Anyhow, here is the bitterly disappointing Chaos Champion:

Basic

Bland

I’ll admit that I’ve been very distracted recently with other hobbies and have found it difficult to get back into the swing of things. I’ve found myself being strangely drawn to all things Sci-Fi like films and books. Classics like Blade Runner and Dune etc. Who knows where this will lead to! Until next time my 28mm lead hoarding friends!
