C35 Chaos Warrior - Fenris

Servus humillimus, domine spectabilis,

Bit of Latin for you there. Still got it. Anyway, here is my latest effort with painting a very small lead figure that strains the eyeballs somewhat and makes your back ache for days after. This is a cheeky C35 Chaos Warrior called Fengris. Fengris has appeared on many other blogs and some use him as a Chaos Thug. Each to their own. Here he is the little helmut loving fiend:

This is my last post for 2017 so here at 'The Incursions of Chaos' (which is just me!), wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!

Chaos Warrior Kathragore Boardskull

Howdy folks,

I finished this Chaos Warrior last week and I’m quite pleased with how the armour came out. Not so much the green but hey ho, life goes on.

I particularly like the Boar pelt (well, I think it’s a Boar) draped over the helmet. Really makes the figure stand out. It could do with some more highlighting, but to be honest I just could not be arsed. This Chaos Warrior is called Kathragore Boardskull, but I'm sure you already knew that. Here he is:

C27 Chaos Beastman Slothman

This miniature took me ages to track down for a cheap price. I actually thought I would never be able to get him into my Beastman collection, but ebay can be very strange at times.

This one is called Slothman from the classic C38 Beastman range. He didn’t take very long at all too paint due to the fact he’s mostly fur. The sculptor did a cracking job on his face. I hope my paint job does it justice:

Chaos Khorne Beastman with Axe

I had in mind to paint a Chaos Warrior, but I just could not resist painting another Beastman. I love the pose on this fella. A real classic Beastman sculpt:

It's not a bad paint job but could have been better. The red armour didn't quite come out how I wanted it to but I do struggle painting red. I also think the shield doesn't work. Might come back to this with a standard plastic shield with a simple Khorne symbol on it. It's just stuck on with some blu tack so no problem there. The tiny little skulls were a nightmare to paint. They are just so small and the detail varies from skull to skull.

Its another figure done after all and I am happy enough with it. I'm currently working on another (sigh, yes another) classic Chaos Beastman. Watch this space fellow Chaos followers.

Cheers.

Chaos Khorne Beastman with Hammer

Yet another Beastman completed. I really like how the skin turned out:

This fella shares its body with at least two more Beastmen sculpts, albeit a with few minor changes here and there. This is the case with many of the Beastmen and you only really notice it when you start painting the cheeky chap and think "hello, why does this seems familiar". I actually did a shield which I loathe to do. Didn't turn out too bad. Still hate doing them though!

Right, I've really got to do something other than a Beastmen now. Me thinks a Chaos Warrior is next.

Cheers.

Chaos Khorne Beastman - Bull Headed with Axe

Howdy folks,

Here is my recent addition to my growing Beastman collection:

Nabbed this description from a Ebay seller that steals photo's of painted mini's from other peoples blogs without permission so I think its fair game!

Minotaur Beastman

Uniquely styled and sized, this mini is fairly small for a Minotaur, roughly the same height as other beastmen in fact, and while later iterations were generally bigger, it suggests that bull headed men-beasts were, in the infinite possibilities of Chaos, just another variety of Beastman. Many of the details lend weight to this, specifically the trousers and single boot. How many Minotaurs have you ever seen depicted wearing clothes that weren't ceremonial armour or a loin cloth? In fact, the ragged pantaloons and boot give this Minotaur an almost 'wolf-man' vibe as if turning into a minotaur is like the curse of lycanthropism. An interesting proposition for this Beastman to be either a temporary mutant according to a curse, or to have once been a man and degenerated into a Beastman. Brutal axe held aloft, eye patch marking a previous struggle, mutated, cursed and 'gifted' by the dark gods.

Marvelous.
